The ‘Timeless Desserts, Handcrafted Treasures’ collection showcases a range of nine flavours, each reflecting the natural shades of gemstones, including ruby, emerald, sapphire, pearl, coral, cat’s eye, orange garnet, diamond, and yellow sapphire

Jaipur:  Jewellery house Tribe Amrapali has partnered with the restaurant brand Yauatcha – a Cantonese all-day diner that fuses dim sum, mixology, tea and European patisserie – to launch a festive collection titled ‘Timeless Desserts, Handcrafted Treasures’. This collaboration transforms the aesthetics of Indian jewellery into indulgent French pâtisserie, featuring macaroons, bon bons, and petit gateaux inspired by Tribe Amrapali’s latest line of Navratna gemstones. The collaboration also includes hampers of these delicacies prepared in unison by the two entities.

The collection showcases a range of nine flavours, each reflecting the natural shades of gemstones, including ruby, emerald, sapphire, pearl, coral, cat’s eye, orange garnet, diamond, and yellow sapphire.

Akanksha Arora, CEO of Tribe Amrapali, expressed excitement about this inaugural food collaboration by the brand, stating, “Yauatcha approached us a few weeks ago, and we were thrilled.” She explained that the packaging was designed in jewel tones with gold motifs to complement the gemstone-inspired treats.

The intention is to blend traditional and contemporary elements in the desserts, which are crafted using Indian ingredients such as coconut, figs and plums, reminiscent of popular dry fruit gifts during the festive season.

The initial trials included transporting a box of the delicacies from Mumbai to Jaipur to refine the flavours and designs. Arora mentioned that some flavours initially felt too contemporary, prompting adjustments to ensure they reflected Indian pride. The final selection features enticing flavours such as jamun-custard apple and dark fig macaroons, jasmine sapphire and coconut sparkle bon bons, and petit gateaux in lychee-sweet lime and guava-peach varieties.

Among her favorites, Arora highlighted the Orange Sesame with Nagpur orange marmalade and sesame peanut crunch, praising the entire range of macaroons for their explosive flavours.

Tribe by Amrapali is the brainchild of two designers inspired by the intertwining of the rich heritage of Indian jewellery and history. Based in Jaipur, Rajesh Ajmera and Rajiv Arora created Amrapali Jewellery and Tribe by Amrapali Jewellery in 1978 to pay homage to designs and motifs that preserve the legacies of India. It retails both online and offline, the thrust of its retail strategy being airport stores.

Recently, the industry saw another collaboration between a jewellery brand and a restaurant. Anmol Jewellers collaborated with Mumbai’s Akina restaurant, to treat its high-net-worth clients to an exclusive preview of the brand’s latest collections, complemented by a curated dinner. About 40-45 attendees present had the chance to explore five distinct showcases specially crafted by the brand for the event.
