From endurance to fun, jewellers celebrate the burning spirit of womanhood in-store, online

It is a delight to see the industry rise up for womanhood before and after March 8. International Women’s Day was and continues to be celebrated by different jewellery brands. Here is a lowdown on some of the brands who did it best.

The environment inside Ratnalaya Jewellers was full of excitement as all-female staff danced to the tunes of popular Hindi songs. With a cake-cutting and felicitation ceremony, the celebration came to an amusing end. Manohar Lal Jewellers (South Ex II/Indirapuram) also held a similar event for its entire women workforce replete with exciting games and group performances. Kasturi Jewellers ran a contest named ‘It’s About Her’, in which participants were to DM or WhatsApp or inbox a picture or video celebrating the women of their lives.

Few brands focused on the personal journey of their founders such as Parina International sharing a short video about the journey of founder Parina Jain, who had no prior experience in the jewellery industry, yet set up her retail brand with the infallible support of her family. Going on a much bolder, unapologetic tone is Kanika Bhatnagar, founder, Kohar, who shared her Instagram monologue about embracing her personality, mistakes and lessons with the pace she is enjoying at the moment.

Keeping aside all the fun and frolic, Lala Jugal Kishore carried a campaign featuring life lessons from four of their most experienced female staff across each of its four showrooms in Aminabad, Mahanagar, Alambagh and Bhootnath respectively. The quotes from these women shed a light on the road still to be taken for countless Indian women to stand up for themselves. Some talked about how self-expression was a struggle that they overcame with determination, while others talked about being brutally true to one’s soul and conducting oneself with pride. Another person harped on the undermined importance of education for the development of women in the country, while the fourth staff iterated about never limiting one’s ambition in life to truly succeed. All of these quotes were shared on Instagram.
