JAS 2021 scores high on stringent safety protocols
Public gathering is a given risky business today, and conducting a buyer-seller meet accommodating jewellers across the country is perhaps too tough a call not to be branded possible. But Jewellers Association Show is embarking on multiple firsts other than conducting the first physical and exclusive B2B jewellery show in India since pandemic, not forgetting the first B2B show by the association itself. They are going all out on safety measures to guarantee optimum security for a relaxed buying environment.
In fact, JAS chairperson Ramsharan Gupta expresses his gratitude towards the government for believing in the association’s will to tick all boxes in safety protocols. “After the government gave us dates for the show, the association had just a month to make it happen. I’m confident of the measures we have deployed for the safety of every participant and hope for a hassle-free experience this year,” states Gupta.
When asked about the key safety measures used in the B2B show, Abhishek Sand, Executive Committee Member, JAS Jaipur, said that no visitor is allowed without submitting proof of getting at least the first vaccine dose. “No mask, no entry is a basic principle. All visitors have been pre-registered. We started pre-registering since the dates were announced to avoid excess traffic at the registration counter and the entrance,” he added.
The advantage lies in the protection every pre-registered visitor enjoys right from arrival at the airport, while commuting to entering hotel rooms. “Every place the visitor happens to be in, be it inside a car or a room, is being sanitized,” Sand added. The association has occupied a 1 lakh square feet wide hall that can house 3,500 people, yet they are mandating low capacities so that there is subsequent gap between booths and enough width between passages for maintaining social distance. Again, the booths open on one side as opposed to multiple openings seen in other B2B shows. This compels every interaction to be in a close-door format.
Finally, the authorities have arranged for large sitting facilities so that visitors get to sit away from crowded clusters and maintain personal safety measures. Necessitating optimum safety is an obvious prerequisite now, believes Kishanji Chudiwala, JAS co-convenor, Jaipur. “With dedicated pavilions for each segment under one roof, best safety measures can alone bring a win-win situation for all participants,” said Chudiwala.
