The Jewels & Weaves Exhibition in Bengaluru provided a unique opportunity for the jeweller to collaborate with a like-minded brand that shares the same purpose – to discover and promote traditional craftsmanship and design
Bengaluru: Jewellery retailer NAC Jewellers tied up with heritage textile brand Pathi Silks at the Jewels & Weaves Exhibition held in Bengaluru on January 9 and 10, 2025 to present traditional jewellery in a way that appeals to modern customers. The event featured two of the brand’s standout collections – Navrathna Uncut Jewellery and the Rewind Collection.
Toji Thomas, Head of Operations at NAC Jewellers, spoke about the collaboration, stating, “It is important for us to collaborate with like-minded brands that share the same purpose. While NAC Jewellers has been part of the community for the last five decades, Pathi Silks has also been an integral part of the community for many years. Both brands focus on reviving the natural forms of jewellery-making and saree-making, so this collaboration was a natural fit.”
The event offered an opportunity to explore Navrathna jewellery, featuring age-old designs with modern appeal, as well as rare Real Antique Burmese Rupees – limited edition pieces showcasing NAC’s commitment to preserving heritage craftsmanship. The exhibition aimed to bridge the gap between tradition and contemporary design, encouraging visitors to explore traditional craftsmanship.
In addition to the brand’s jewellery displays, visitors could enjoy a fashion showcase featuring handcrafted silk sarees from Pathi Silks. The exhibition was designed not just to display fine jewellery and textiles, but to offer an immersive experience, where attendees could engage with the history and artistry behind each piece.
“We want to make tradition accessible and appealing to today’s customers. This exhibition aims for more than sales – it’s about sharing stories, offering heirloom pieces, and giving visitors a memorable experience. Also, having a dedicated space at our store for these designs allows us to give respect to the intricate work behind each piece and showcase the depth of our collections,” Thomas added. This approach allowed visitors to appreciate the significance and craftsmanship of each item on display.
Established in 1973, NAC Jewellers has become one of the prominent jewellery brands in Chennai. Founded by Nathella Narayana Chetty in 1917, the business expanded under his son, Nathella Anantham Chetty, who opened a store in Parry’s Corner, Chennai.
