The brand’s Director Joita Sen highlighted Senco’s commitment to empowering women, be it training for karigars or offering women employees managerial roles, bolstering their role in decision-making
New Delhi: Senco Gold and Diamonds recently sponsored the ‘She Shakti Forum’, an initiative by News18 Network that celebrates and honours women making significant strides in all walks of life. The forum, in its second edition, focused on women breaking barriers in social, economic and cultural spheres on the global stage. At the event, the brand’s Director Joita Sen delivered a message that resonated with themes of women’s empowerment and progress.
Sen credited the rich craftsmanship of karigars (artisans) for the brand’s consistent growth and highlighted the importance of supporting women in leadership roles. With a focus on fostering change, Sen emphasized how women are not just driving innovation but also preserving and advancing traditional skills.
Sen took the opportunity to showcase Senco’s unique approach to business, balancing its storied legacy with a forward-thinking mindset. She revealed that the brand has been working closely with women karigars for them to flourish and hone their creativity. The brand has inducted a skill development programme for women to get them in-sync with market trends. “We wish to provide women karigars with a platform to foster their talent. Our aim remains to provide opportunities for them to grow professionally by implementing a promotions policy to enable women at the bottom of the chain to rise up the ladder,” Sen remarked. Senco is also running training programmes with courses in CAD and design for women, for them to adapt to technological advancements. This blend of tradition and modernity, according to Sen, is key to the company’s success.
Sen mentioned that the brand has made conscious efforts to place women in positions of power, and hire women in managerial roles, bolstering their role in decision-making.
The brand’s association with the event underscored the importance it places on creating inclusive spaces where women can thrive as leaders while honouring the invaluable work of artisans who have kept cultural traditions alive. Through initiatives like these, Senco Gold and Diamonds aims to drive a future of empowered change.
