Bengal Jewellery celebrates 26 years with NABC in Chicago
The brand aims to appeal to the North American Bengali Diaspora
KOLKATA: Kolkata-based Bengal Jewellery commemorated its 26-year-old association with the North American Bengal Conference. This association exposes the jewellery brand to the Indian diaspora, expanding conversion and business opportunities abroad.
NABC was established by the Cultural Association of Bengal to address all the issues that concern individuals from the Bengali ethnicity in North America and West Bengal, India. Acting as a forum for music, dance, art, artifacts, seminars on education, healthcare, technology, and business opportunity. The event was held from July 4-6.
Bengal Jewellery set up its stall at the convention, exhibiting its jewellery collection to reconcile its position with the majority Bengali audience. The brand seems to be taking the path that many prominent jewellery brands have opted for in recent years. A trend has emerged in direct marketing strategies to target affluent Indian prospects living abroad due to them being affluent and hence more likely to make a high-ticket purchase.
Bengal Jewellers has had a long-standing relation with the conference since the days of its inception. The conference is held each year in major US cities with the prestigious Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center in Illinois being the venue this time around. The event is organized by the Bengali Association of Greater Chicago.
With all its four retail stores based in Kolkata, the brand prides itself on its deeply rooted cultural base. The need to expand while having a limited cultural reach may be challenging. The brand, hence, looks to shift its focus outside shores.
