Mumbai: Premium jewellery is the need of the hour, and IIJS Premiere 2024 boasts of some of the best identities in India’s couture jewellery manufacturing scene. This time, we interacted with Achal Jewels and RK Silver & Gold, who are ready to impress the retailers with their distinguished offerings in high-ticket as well as budget-friendly ranges.

Vikas Mehta, Director, Achal Jewels (Jasmine Hall, Booth Club 20A at JWCC) claims that his market research has inferred a strong affinity towards high-end products by Indian consumers. “They seek premium quality jewellery in polki, colour stones, and diamonds. Previously, quality was the sole criteria for consumers, but couture and select collections have added to that. Hence, we present Rozana, a budget-friendly jewellery collection that fits those requirements,” he maintained.

The next collection by Achal Jewels is titled Avika, which consists of high-neck jewellery with premium colour gemstones, something that the manufacturer is trying out for the first time at IIJSA Premiere. Then comes the third collection, a middle ground, which consists of both elements of colour gemstones and diamonds similar to the Rozana range, creating an altogether different set of jewellery for customers who want to upscale from lightweight to mid-ticket items.

When asked about the impact of IIJS Premiere on the Indian market, Mehta said, “IIJS Premiere is not just a show; it’s a festival for Indian jewellers. The entire market runs because of this show and we have great expectations from it. Rising buying sentiments, a drop in gold prices, low stock in retail, and the upcoming wedding season have altogether created an ideal environment for stock movement this time.”

Yash Vadher, Director, RK Silver & Gold (Hall 04 – Stall 4t 509 A, NESCO) from Rajkot said that the company is coming up with an eclectic assortment of 18K high-end rose gold jewellery with the brand name of Nexaro, which will be launched with a new logo at NESCO. “Tops, earrings, bangles, necklace, and all the other items are there in this lightweight range. We have plain, CZ and enamel coating in this range to infuse versatility,” Vadher added.

Speaking about turnouts this time, Vadher observed that the Indian economy has been going through several factors such as the election and price fluctuation of gold since the last 6 months. “After the duty reduction, we expect 20% more business to happen than that of the past edition. We are also venturing into lab-grown diamonds through a collection with real gold,” Vadher said.

Operational in India since 1985, Achal Jewels has been into the wholesale business for the last 23 years. Workmanship, creativity, transparency, and look have been the four cornerstones of Achal Jewels, which has grown along with the tide of development of India’s gem and jewellery industry. “We have also started a heritage jewellery range by the name of Sonakar and there will be a booth catering to the same at IIJS Premiere 2024,” Mehta added.

The 40-year-old brand of RK Silver and Gold started from Soni Bazaar in Rajkot. With a power-packed team of 100 master artisans and 60 visionary employees driving the company to excellence, RK Silver and Gold is poised to impress retailers who want to expand their inventory with versatile ranges.
