Come September, BRIDAL TRENDSETTERS 2021 to thrill Bengaluru after stunning show in Jaipur
The Bridal Trendsetters 2021, presented by Malabar Gold and Diamonds and Fura Gems, and organized by The Retail Jewellers, has set a precedent of bridal fashion at its maiden show in Jaipur on August 18. Bringing together a select group of manufacturers specializing in contemporary bridal gemstone jewellery, the platform underscored the growing importance of the bridal segment, even as it gains unusual importance in the post-covid environment as the indulgence-led jewellery purchase takes a beating.
High-profile Bollywood weddings have set steep standards for the regular Indian fashionista to bedeck herself with trendiest baubles. Of late, the country has stood witness to various forms of cultural amalgamation such as Punjabis becoming fond of temple jewellery and South Indians sporting polki sets with élan at their marriage ceremonies.
Such revolution has opened up new opportunities for the heritage jewellery from Jaipur across India. Linking that demand to the manufacturing excellence of Indian jewellers, the Bridal Trendsetters Show took place on August 18 at Crowne Plaza, Jaipur. The event witnessed the presence of over 400 enthusiastic attendees from all across India.
The show started with JAS Jaipur chairperson Ramsharan Gupta praising the initiative to promote the choicest bridal jewellery by reputed manufacturers. The fashion show commenced with Achal Jewels exhibiting its stunning polki and diamond jewellery. Thereafter, models scorched the ramp for Mohanlal Narayandas Jewellers’ exquisite range of high jewellery, Radhika Jewels’ spectacular display of jewellery, Rambhajo’s fascinating range of polki, Kundan and meenakari jewellery and lastly, Gem Plaza’s mighty gemstones exhibited through studded jewellery.
In a unique gesture of showing its support and giving out a message to the manufacturing community of Jaipur, Shamlal Ahamed, Managing Director, International operations, Malabar gold and diamonds, Malabar, said, “As polki, kundan and color gemstone jewellery take new meaning for a modern new-age bride, it raises the importance and relevance of Jaipur as a global sourcing hub for bridal designs.
Not surprisingly, the show got a resounding response from the retailers who assembled to witness the unveiling of the handpicked collections from select manufacturers including Mohanlal Narayandas Jeweller, Radhika Jewels, Rambhajo’s and Gem Plaza.
Diamond jeweller Abhishek Zaveri praised The Retail Jeweller for innovation in the show’s concept. “The presentation and conceptualization of the show were lovely. Also, the pieces presented were very trendy and would surely impact the market in the upcoming season,” he said.
Praising the overall quality of the JAS 2021 show, Rachna Sanghee from Shree Sai Krishna Jewellers, Hyderabad, said “The pairing of the fashion and jewellery were so beautiful, that it actually surprised the audience. The synchronisation between the models, their performance and the song selection really hooked us,” Sanghee said.
Manufacturer Vikas Mehta of Achal Jewels stated that the show had an unprecedented ambience in Jaipur. “Apart from the new designs and concepts showcased, the overarching idea of giving a fashionable platform to bridal jewellery is very unique. All participants loved it,” said Gupta.
Suresh Dhaddha of Gem Plaza believes that every manufacturer at the debut Bridal Trendsetters 2021 exhibited inventory which was created after thorough international market research. “Bringing western trends in Indian bridal trousseau was a masterstroke at the show,” Dhaddha maintained.
Overwhelmed with the response of the entire Jaipur trade fraternity, The Retail Jeweller is conducting a bigger event of Bridal Trendsetters on September 14, at Sheraton Grand, Rajajinagar, Bengaluru from 7:30 pm onwards. Welcoming IIJS 2021, the biggest B2B jewellery trade event in India, the Bridal Trendsetters will play a huge role in giving the glimpse of trendy, marvellous designs in bridal jewellery to the national retail sector from the inventory of chosen, reputed manufacturers across the country.
“The show highlighted the artistry of Indian jewellers with the display of grand polka jewellery, which is the pride of Jaipur. We wish such shows are regularized.”

The bridal jewellery exhibited was one-of-a-kind. We really enjoyed the exhibit and feel that such trends are going to impact consumers’ buying in the wedding season.

Such get-togethers help create a win-win situation for both the buyer and the miner as we deduce the current trend and prioritise our inventory accordingly.
