18th FURA Retail Jeweller India Awards 2023 lifts the bar for innovation in the Indian retail jewellery industry
The awards, heralded as the Oscars of India’s retail jewellery industry, recognised excellence in design and marketing at a gala event attended by more than 600 jewellers nationwide
Mumbai witnessed a night of glitz and glamour, shine and shimmer as the 18th FURA Retail Jeweller India Awards 2023 (RJIA), India’s first and foremost recognition platform for Indian jewellers, unfolded in full grandeur at The Grand Hyatt on Saturday, August 5, 2023. This annual extravaganza recognised exceptional design and marketing innovation in the jewellery world, resonating with the spirit of achievement, bolstered by the presence of over 600+ retailers from the jewellery industry.
The 18th FURA Retail Jeweller India Awards 2023 was presented in association with the World Gold Council; SGL; Nitin Jewellers, Hyderabad and Midas Diamonds, Mumbai, along with Market Excel as process advisor and BVC as Logistics Partner.
Every year, a select few individuals from diverse backgrounds, including fashion, media, business and entertainment, are invited to be a part of the jury and help raise the absolute top drawer of jewellery design in India to an even higher standard. The Retail Jeweller India Awards, an annual gala night of all that’s precious and priceless, is steadily upping the design benchmark in the country.
The jurors’ deliberation plays a crucial role in handpicking the best as they preview and judge the latest masterworks of the Indian jewellery industry. The top five nominations for each category were displayed on the grand awards night for attendees to cherish the art and artisanship of the nominated pieces.
The process culminated in the spotlight shining brightly on stellar achievers who emerged victorious across 20 design and four marketing award categories.
The Retail Jeweller India Awards posthumously felicitated the legendary Bhima Bhattar with the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award –Retail’. The honour is conferred on individuals for their contribution throughout their careers to the Indian retail jewellery industry. The audience gave a standing ovation to the five sons of Bhima Bhattar who carry forward his legacy, including B. Bindumadhav, Chairman of Bhima Jewellers, who received the award on behalf of his father.
At the award show, Kamal Kishore Agarwal, Chairman, Shiv Narayan Jewellers, was honoured with the ‘Special Contribution to the Gem and Jewellery Industry’ award in recognition of the recent achievement of 8 Guinness World Records by his company.
The presence of Bollywood stars added a touch of glamour to the grand awards night, with actors Nimrat Kaur and Sanya Malhotra jazzing up the show. The Bollywood stars, along with the jurors, presented the awards.
