Malabar Gold & Diamonds in cyclone relief campaign

Malabar Gold & Diamonds has said it is continuing with relief activities in areas affected by Cyclone Mekunu and contributing in a variety of ways.
The company started the relief activities in Salalah, Oman right after the cyclone struck. A team from Malabar Gold & Diamonds led by Muneer Moideen, assistant branch head, got involved in the relief activities by distributing groceries, water bottles, Iftar kits, etc.
More than 10,000 residents from Salalah, Mirbat, Thaka, Haffa, Daris, Dalkuth, Rakyuth benefited from the relief campaign, the company said in a statement.
Najeeb K, regional head – Malabar Gold & Diamonds, Oman, said: “We would like to express our deepest sympathy and offer our sincere help to those suffering from the impact of Cyclone Mekunu. We are hoping the earliest possible recovery and are praying to the Almighty for restoration of the affected areas. Considering the number of requests we are receiving, we are extending our relief campaign to other affected areas as well.”
Malabar Gold & Diamonds is “always at forefront when it comes to CSR activities”, the statement noted. The group sets aside a fixed percentage of its net profit for the benefit of the needy in the markets it operates. It undertakes social welfare activities all year long, focusing on five priority areas – the medical and educational sectors, environment as well as housing and women’s empowerment.
