Indian jewellery brand embellishes Lily Collins’ Parisian style in Emily in Paris season 4
Jewellery by Priyanka Mehta’s Nue brand adds a touch of Indian elegance to the show
Paris: As Emily in Paris returns for its fourth season, the fan-favourite character Emiliy, played by Lily Collins, has evolved in both style and sophistication. While the show continues its familiar blend of romantic and professional chaos, this season introduces a refined twist to Emily’s wardrobe.
The transformation in Emily’s look is complemented by subtle yet sophisticated jewellery pieces, many of which draw inspiration from Indian motifs and architecture. The brand behind these designs is Nue, created by Priyanka Mehta, a Mumbai-born, Antwerp-based entrepreneur known for her work with lab-grown diamonds.
In the season’s premiere, Emily wears the Grace Necklace, a gold chain adorned with a coloured diamond and several colourless diamonds. The design is inspired by the work of the Taj Mahal and other Mughal architectural marvels. Additionally, her earrings featured in a hot-air balloon commercial echo the grandeur of jhumars, traditional chandeliers found in Rajasthan palaces.
“Our brief was clear: we needed delicate, sophisticated, and wearable jewellery to match Emily’s refined new look,” Mehta explained in a recent interview. “This project pushed me creatively, especially when asked to design a Karl Lagerfeld-inspired ring for the upcoming second drop of Season 4, incorporating black and white gold.”
Nue’s jewellery has become a significant part of this season, with around 20 pieces showcased, compared to just five in Season 3. The brand first caught the attention of the Emily in Paris team through their Instagram page. “I initially thought the email was a scam,” Mehta recalled with a laugh. “At that time, our brand was relatively new and not widely marketed. Now, the exposure from the show has significantly increased our global client base.”
One standout piece from Nue is the Gabriel Ring, a gold ring with a hidden diamond, which is regularly associated as an accessory for Lucas Bravo’s character in the series.
