With ‘Mandiraa Mahotsava’ campaign, Neelkanth Gold and Diamonds offers modern interpretations of temple jewellery
According to the brand, temple jewellery has seen increased interest from younger consumers in recent years as elements of it are being incorporated into fashion accessories and fusion designs
Bengaluru: Neelkanth Gold and Diamonds, a gold jewellery brand from Bengaluru, has launched the second edition of its ‘Mandiraa Mahotsava’ campaign. Running from January 14, the month-long campaign focuses on presenting temple jewellery with a modern twist, blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design elements to cater to a diverse consumer demographic.
According to the brand, temple jewellery has seen increased interest from younger consumers in recent years as elements of it are being incorporated into fashion accessories and fusion designs. “ Temple jewellery, once created to adorn deities, has gracefully evolved over time. Originally a staple in religious settings and Bharatnatyam performances, it now enjoys widespread popularity in modern fashion, seamlessly blending with both traditional and contemporary styles,” said Gurmukh Singh, CEO of Neelkanth Gold & Diamonds.
The campaign video features two Bharatnatyam dancers, drawing inspiration from the ancient dance form traditionally performed in temple courtyards. This connection underscores the brand’s aim to reinterpret temple jewellery in ways that preserve its cultural significance while appealing to modern aesthetics.
The growing appeal of temple jewellery, which is traditionally popular among South Indian brides, can be attributed to its blend of spirituality, artistry and individuality. The rise of celebrity and influencer endorsements has played a role in its popularity among younger demographics, with traditional temple jewellery being styled alongside modern outfits. This trend has made temple jewellery more versatile, appealing to a broader audience across generations.
The ‘Mandiraa Mahotsava’ collection has been re-imagined to meet today’s fashion demands. It marks a significant expansion in the brand’s existing temple jewellery collection, with new designs that incorporate intricate deity motifs and temple-inspired structures. The updated collection includes versatile pieces like stacking rings and multi-functional designs, crafted to complement both traditional bridal wear and modern outfits. “The collection includes a variety of necklaces, chokers, earrings, bangles, rings, and even long harams, waistbands, and hair accessories—ideal for both bridal wear and festive occasions,” said Singh.
Neelkanth Gold and Diamonds has scored with modern interpretations of traditional pieces, blending ancient motifs with contemporary styles. Their collections, often made of gold and featuring delicate craftsmanship, cater to a wide range of occasions, from weddings to festive events, appealing to both traditional and modern consumers.
Currently, the brand has three stores in Bengaluru and plans to expand its presence nationwide.
