Temple jewellery is one of the most common and thoroughly explored categories in Bengaluru, the current IIJS hub. Manufacturers not only from the southern states but also other regions have honed their expertise in this segment to offer unique ranges to discerning buyers in that region.
Varakrupa Jewellers has come up with lightweight designs in temple earrings for IIJS 2021. The jeweller took inspiration from vintage temples and heritage sites from across the country to design the earring collection.
Giving more details about the collection, Poypelly Nanjunda, MD, Varakrupa Jewellers said, “We have taken inspiration from Hampi in Karnataka, Vaishno Devi in Jammu and many other heritage and religious sites from the country. The temple earrings start from 3 grams to 18 grams as far as weight is concerned and earrings between 5-6 grams are fast-moving.”
According to Poypelly, the fusion work of old and new modern designs have been done to create unique pieces in temple earrings.
Mehta Gold is displaying Chandbalis and jhoomkis in a vast weight range bracket from 10 grams to 150 grams. According to Sandeep Mehta, Owner, Mehta Gold, there is a big difference in jewellery designs during this time as compared to the previous occasions.
Sandeep Mehta, Owner, Mehta Gold, said, “As IIJS is happening after almost one-and-a-half years, we have come up with unique designs in temple earrings. The demand for big-size temple earrings is more in North India, whereas in South India small-sized temple earrings are the most popular.”
