Verma Jewellers hosts ‘Pride of Himachal’ – a virtual event honouring 429 Women Pradhans on the occasion of International Women’s Day
The biggest and the most trusted jewellery store of Himachal Pradesh, Verma Jewellers hosted ‘Pride of Himachal’ – a virtual event on ‘Women Empowerment’ honouring 429 Women Pradhans of Sirmour, Shimla and Solan Districts on the occasion of International Women’s Day on 8th March 2022.
The Chief Guest was the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Sh. Jai Ram Thakur, who virtually presided over the event and felicitated Women Pradhans of the state for their achievements and contributions towards the welfare and development of their respective districts. He highlighted that the Government of Himachal Pradesh is committed to ensure that the women of the state are empowered, respected and given their rightful place in society.
The event highlighted the achievements of Women Pradhans and featured a prestigious panel discussion with the Pradhans who discussed the challenges faced by them and the difficulties they have overcome over the years. The event was attended by eminent dignitaries like Ms. Rashim Dhar Sood (President Himachal BJP Mahila Morcha), Ms. Monika Bhutungru (SP Shimla), Ms. Daisy Thakur (Chairperson of Himachal Pradesh State Commission for Women), Ms. Prajwal Busta (Member Himachal State Planning Board), Ms. Niraj Kumari Chandla (Joint Director, Panchayati Raj) and moderated by Ms.Shalini Sharma (Radio Jockey – Big FM).

The ‘Pride of Himachal’ is an initiative taken by Verma Jewellers to promote and encourage women empowerment in the state and another step towards creating a brighter future for women in Himachal Pradesh. It was an enriching and humbling experience to share the inspiring stories of all the Women Pradhans who participated in the event. It was encouraging to witness the resilience and determination of these women from different strata of society, who were able to achieve success through their own efforts.
