Within the segment, plain gold jewellery grew 27%, and gold coin sales jumped 65%
New Delhi: Titan Company Ltd, the parent company of jewellery major Tanishq, wrapped up FY25 on a robust note, reporting a 25% year-on-year growth in Q4, fuelled by strong performances across its core businesses. The company continued expanding its retail footprint, adding 72 stores during the quarter, bringing the total store count to 3,312 across India.
The jewellery division, Titan’s largest revenue contributor, delivered 24% YoY growth, largely driven by elevated gold prices. Within the segment, plain gold jewellery grew 27%, and gold coin sales jumped 65%, indicating a strong consumer tilt toward both adornment and investment purchases. However, the surge in gold prices also softened demand at lower price points, with overall buyer growth remaining in single digits.
Premium jewellery continued to attract strong interest, resulting in a high double-digit rise in average ticket sizes. Studded jewellery saw low double-digit growth, while the solitaire category made a notable recovery.
Among emerging verticals, CaratLane grew 22%, underpinned by its strong studded jewellery portfolio. However, Taneira, Titan’s ethnic wear brand, reported a 4% decline in sales.
Ahead of the quarterly update, Titan shares closed 1.71% lower at Rs 3,023.65 on the BSE.
Titan’s foray into jewellery began in 1994 with Tanishq. It entered the luxury segment in 2010 with the sub-brand Zoya. The following year, Titan launched Mia, a line of hand-crafted jewellery for the modern woman. In 2016, Titan acquired CaratLane, aiming to make everyday elegance affordable and establishing its presence in the e-commerce sector.
