Sustainable practices pivot of top jewellery brands’ resolutions on World Environment Day
Global jewellery brands make strides toward sustainability, marking World Environment Day with innovative initiatives
Mumbai: This World Environment Day, multiple jewellery brands across the country pledged for ecological conservation. Many brands urged their followers to initiate a peaceful lifestyle, while others engaged in activities to spread awareness.
DiAi Designs had an interesting take on the call for sustainability. On June 5, 2021, the brand had introduced the ‘Talwar’ Necklace, an embodiment of strength and empowerment. Inspired by the Sanskrit word for ‘Sword,’ this meticulously crafted piece features a high-polish, curved motif arranged horizontally to form a stunning choker. However, DiAi Designs has pledged to plant a tree with the sale of every Talwar Necklace, reinforcing their commitment to environmental stewardship.
In parallel, Mia by Tanishq, a leading fine jewellery brand, announced a series of sustainability initiatives under the banner of #GoldForGood on World Environment Day this year. Shyamala Ramanan, Business Head of Mia by Tanishq, highlighted the brand’s dedication to creating exquisite jewellery pieces while honoring the planet. The #GoldForGood campaign underscores Mia’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, ensuring that each purchase contributes to environmental preservation.
“At Mia, we are deeply committed to creating beautiful jewellery pieces that also honour our planet. Our #GoldForGood initiatives reflect our dedication to sustainability, ensuring that our customers can make a positive impact with every purchase. The brand’s efforts are encapsulated in symbolizing the commitment to responsible and sustainable practices. At Mia, we believe that style and sustainability can go hand in hand, and we are dedicated to making a positive difference in the world,” maintained Ramanan.
Solitario Diamonds, renowned as a big hitter within the lab grown diamond retail market, released an educational campaign across its social media channels titled ‘Bling Better’. The video illustrates the advantages of opting for lab grown diamonds. With the aid of a reel consisting of tightly knit quick cuts, the brand claims that LGDs saves 109 gallons of water per carat and reduces 1.5 billion carbon emissions preserving 250 tons of land. The reel concludes with a message to choose one’s diamond jewellery wisely.
