Thematically organised around next-gen retail and technology to revolutionize the jewellery business, the knowledge forum will be held at JW Marriott, Sahar in Mumbai on January 3
Mumbai: The Indian jewellery industry stands on the precipice of a sea change in technology and product promotions. The Retail Jeweller India Forum, 2024 will unravel several interesting viewpoints on technology and best practices in retail from industry leaders as well as young jewellers who have met with exceptional success.
Come January 3, the knowledge forum will attract retail jewellers from across the country to understand and uphold advancements in the sector. To be held at JW Marriott, Sahar, the forum will comprise eight sessions that will enlighten the audience about advanced business processes, the bustling market of natural diamonds, jewellery tech, staff management, increasing market-share in the competitive luxury industry and a lot more.
Several stalwarts from the gems and jewellery industry will take to the stage and share their insights about the current domestic market scenario and important case studies from overseas to draw inferences on how a jeweller in India should strategize business for growth. The national knowledge forum of all things jewellery, sponsored by De Beers Institute of Diamonds and Synergics with Deloitte as knowledge partner, will be followed by the Bridal Trendsetters show and the MD & CEO Awards 2024.
What excites delegates
Talking about his expectations from the forum, Aman Talla, Managing Director, Talla Jewellers, Jammu, said, “The gems and jewellery industry is changing at a fast pace, and I strongly believe that the Retail Jeweller India Forum will help us keep up with this change. The forum attracts top retailers from across the country and helps us build new relationships with industry peers. The forum will help us understand the market’s direction and its focus for the next 10 years.”
Vikas Kataria, Managing Director, DP Jewel Line, Mumbai, has been attending this forum for the last 10 years, and is looking forward to being a part of it. “The Retail Jeweller India Forum is always about new things in the industry. I expect to gather knowledge. There has been a lot of talk about digitization, so I believe we will learn more about it in the upcoming forum,” he said.
Chahat Shah, CEO, Svaraa Jewels (Kalamandir Jewellers partnership) has seen the platform grow from strength to strength. “Over the years, the Retail Jeweller India Forum has involved the entire fabric of the Indian jewellery industry and it is a great opportunity to share the stage with the biggest jewellery players of the country and brainstorm ideas,” Shah remarked.
According to Surbhi Shekhar, Marketing Head of Manohar Lal Saraf Jewellers, New Delhi, the forum is a great path for young jewellers to be introduced publicly to the national industry. “First-time jewellers and existing brands can benefit from the trade insights shared on stage and use that to their best advantage in their own showrooms,” Shekhar said.
Ansh Anand, Chief Operating Officer, Punjab Jewels, Indore, is excited to see jewellers of his generation ideate and talk about concepts that helped revolutionize traditional processes in different aspects of the industry. “It’s one thing when you read it in a magazine or newspaper, and another to hear it from industry leaders in jewellery retail at such forums. The insights we get are from people whose knowledge and expertise are tested daily on-ground. I’d love to talk about the huge untapped markets of natural diamonds in India, as only 1% of India’s population wears natural diamonds,” Anand said.
