The jeweller has created authentic period pieces for ‘Sangeet Manapmaan’, combining traditional Maharashtrian craftsmanship with cinematic storytelling

Pune: P. N. Gadgil & Sons (PNGS) has reinforced its cultural ties with Marathi cinema through a strategic partnership with ‘Sangeet Manapmaan’, a new feature film starring acclaimed actors Subodh Bhave and Vaidehi Parshurami. The collaboration positions the brand as a champion of regional art while expanding its reach to new audiences.

The musical film, directed by Subodh Bhave, adapts the iconic 1911 play by renowned Marathi playwright Krishnaji Prabhakar Khadilkar for contemporary audiences. Released today, the film features PNGS as its official jewellery partner, blending artistic merit with strategic brand promotion.

“The cast of the movie recently visited PNGS’s Bibvewadi branch. Under this creative partnership, we designed custom jewellery for the actors,” says Ajit Gadgil, Promoter, P. N. Gadgil & Sons Limited (PNGS)

According to Gadgil, the collection emphasises authenticity through traditional Maharashtrian pieces: “The jewellery created for the film included traditional Maharashtrian pieces such as naths (nose rings), thushi (chokers), vaak (necklaces), bugadi (ear cuffs), and Kolhapuri saaz (traditional Kolhapuri necklaces). These designs were crafted after a lot of research to complement the film’s cultural narrative, bringing authenticity to the characters on screen.”

The partnership extends beyond jewellery creation, with select PNGS showrooms across Maharashtra now displaying the film-worn pieces. This initiative allows customers and film enthusiasts to examine the intricate designs up close. The brand has also embraced digital promotion, sharing behind-the-scenes content and organising interactive events, including meet-and-greets with the cast.

The collaboration showcases PNGS’s expertise in creating heritage-inspired jewellery while strengthening its connection to Maharashtrian culture. Through in-store displays, social media engagement, and direct customer interactions, the brand continues to build stronger bonds with its state-wide customer base.
