The significance of gold jewellery continues to dominate Indian festivals and weddings, despite other metals gaining popularity recently

Mumbai: The festival Onam and Aditi Rao Hydari’s intimate wedding have both captured the attention of jewellery enthusiasts and fashion followers alike. These events were not just grand celebrations. They were also a showcase of some of the most iconic and culturally rich jewellery trends seen in recent times.

Hydari tied the knot with actor Siddharth at a 400-year-old temple in Wanaparthy, Telangana. Her jewellery, Sabyasachi Heritage Jewellery, was a celebration of tradition, featuring long jhumkas, delicate bangles, a heavy anklet, in a pink and gold colour palette that resonated with her royal and minimalistic bridal look.

Simultaneously, the vibrant festival of Onam was celebrated across by South Indian celebrities who embraced their traditional roots through their stunning outfits and jewellery choices. Onam, a time when family and friends come together to celebrate harvest and culture, saw stars like Keerthy Suresh, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Mahima Nambiar, and Amala Paul donning exquisite gold jewellery that represented the essence of South India’s rich heritage. From layered necklaces to heavy gold ensembles, these stars paired their sarees with handcrafted jewellery, creating looks that were both elegant and culturally significant. Several other Indian celebrities attended various events, collaborated with jewellery brands, and shared their stunning looks on social media platforms.

Bollywood actress Tisca Chopra turned heads during Onam celebrations by wearing a sophisticated and traditional jewellery ensemble. Actress and producer Amala Paul celebrated Onam with her family and wore a timeless traditional south Indian attire. However, what caught everyone’s attention was her jewellery. She donned a handcrafted gold necklace, earrings, and bangles from Cressida Signature Jewels, a Kerala-based brand renowned for creating designer hallmarked jewellery in 22K and 18K gold.
