The initiative salutes and acknowledges the administration, police personnel and frontline health workers who are working relentlessly to fight the global pandemic.
Amritsar: Maliram Jewellers in association with Punjab administration and FICCI FLO Amritsar inaugurate ‘Wheels of Hope’ at Red Cross Bhavan in the esteemed presence of Sukhchain Singh Gill, IPS Commissioner of Police, Shivdular Singh Dhillon, Deputy Commissioner and Shanker Maliram Kedia, Owner, Maliram Jewellers. It was of paramount importance to start the initiative by felicitating and acknowledging the administration and police personnel, who have been working day and night patrolling and ensuring lockdown rules are implemented.
The Wheels of Hope then moved to Aujla Tower, where Gurjeet Singh Aujla, MP, Lok Sabha and his wifeUndleeb Roy Aujla were felicitated along with the NGOs. Collectively, they have been contributing tirelessly through various resources that they have at their disposal. The next milestone was at Shri Om Parkash Soni’s residence, where he has been ensuring ration is sent out at places of need. Being an MLA of Punjab Assembly, he has done a commendable job by maintaining a steady flow of ration and its distribution.
The last stop for the day was Medical College. The scenario here was very touching. Every nurse, doctor, ward boy, staff member was dedicated to serving the patients at the hospital. With a selfless attitude, every member was ensuring that the patients were attended to and made mentally comfortable.
Shanker Maliram Kedia, Owner, Maliram Jewellers said, “At all these locations, there were people from different fields of work. But what united them, was their fight to end COVID-19 as front-line workers. Every individual had a passion and inner-desire to help the people around, without worrying about themselves. They do not have the option of social distancing, but to face the epidemic at the front line. A thank you and feeling of gratitude won’t do justice to the contribution that they are making. But that shouldn’t stop us from acknowledging, appreciating and applauding the real superheroes.”
