Lightweight jewellery is the new king at IIJS 2021

The lighter the jewellery is, the higher is the demand today. This was evident across verticals at IIJS 2021 where buyers put lightweight on top priority in their buying lists.
In lightweight category, Lotus Jewellery Creation came up with Moroccan collection of bangles. The collection is inspired from the filigree and carvings used in the Moroccan architecture. For pendant sets, Lotus Jewellery Creation has worked upon four themes, which are broadly classified on the age group of women.
Sharing more details, Vineet Vasa, Partner, Lotus Jewellery Creation, said, “For young girls, we have designed the Floral collection. The Art deco collection is for working women. For newly married women, we have designed a collection inspired from Bismarck prints and lastly, designs inspired from block printing for middle-agedwomen above 40 years.”
In Moroccan collection, a pair of bangles start from 24 grams and the pendant sets is made between 4 grams and 13 grams.
Swarnshilp Jewellers have launched lightweight jewellery in 18KT Italian and Mangalsutra.
Khushboo Ranawat, Director, Swarnshilp, said, “We are constantly evolving and new designs are introduced every week. This time, we are focusing more on Mangalsutra.”
Another manufacturer, VK Jewels Pvt Ltd, have especially designed handmade earrings collection called ‘Italian earrings’. The weight of the jewellery pieces range from 1.5 grams and 3.5 grams. The main attraction of VK Jewels is their ultra-lightweight collections where the entire collection consists of rings, earrings, pendants, bracelets below 2 grams.
Hiren Kotak, Director, VK Jewels Pvt Ltd, said, “The lightweight collection has been designed in both 22 carat and 18K rose gold jewellery. We have also launched lightweight choker sets which include ring, bracelet and earrings in between 30-35 grams. Apart from lightweight designs, we also focus on the strength of the designs.”
