Keshavji Chhaganlal Jewellers hosts a quiet celebration with team members as part of its employee engagement initiatives
On this Independence Day, the brand planned the gathering, allowing employees to unwind and catch up outside of their regular working hours, as the brand operates on all days of the week
Jamshedpur: This year’s Independence Day at Keshavji Chhaganlal Jewellers was marked by a modest but meaningful celebration. The event took place at the Sakchi branch, bringing together the sales force and store employees for a brief but significant observance. The day began with the hoisting of the tricolour flag, following which the employees gathered for breakfast and a much-needed interaction outside duty hours.
Public holidays are generally busier for the brand as the industrial areas of Jamshedpur are closed, resulting in greater footfalls at the store. With the festival of Teej occurring sometime around this time, women of the region tend to shop for the occasion. However, Adeshra pointed out that this year, the walk-ins had increased mainly due to the cut in the customs duty announced during the budget.
“We had the celebration a couple of hours prior to the store’s opening time, since on holidays, more customers come over to visit the showroom,” said Siddharth Adeshra, Director, Keshavji Chhaganlal Jewellers.
According to Adeshra, the employees rarely find a chance to interact with one another since the brand is operational on all the days of the week and allows individual offs on a rotation basis. This simple gathering served as a break from the daily routine, allowing the team to connect on a more personal level.
The brand has consistently prioritised engaging with its team members, even amidst a demanding schedule. Recognising that employees usually meet for work-related discussions, the brand made a deliberate effort to create opportunities for more relaxed interactions.
“On holidays, we generally see an increase of almost 20% over other days in terms of walk-ins at the store. Even though we did not have any offers for Independence Day, there were a lot of customers at our showroom,” he maintained.
To maintain employee engagement and encourage interaction among its team members, the brand regularly introduces various initiatives. One such initiative is the Keshavji Chhaganlal Premier League, a recurring activity designed to foster a sense of camaraderie and teamwork within the company. “Each month, we have the KCPL competition between the different teams from among our employees, which brings them together for a fun sales activity,” explained Adeshra.
This event is structured to promote healthy competition among staff members, allowing them to participate in friendly contests that not only boost morale but also strengthen their bonds with one another. Through these initiatives, the brand aims to create a positive and collaborative work environment, ensuring that employees remain motivated and connected.
