The retailer, which is celebrating its 70th anniversary, offered customers an exciting mix of lucky draws, festive treats and exclusive prizes, aiming to go beyond transactions and foster deeper emotional connections
Kanpur: Kashi Jewellers recently hosted an event that transformed its showroom into a lively celebration of Diwali. The Kashi Jewellers Diwali Carnival, which ran throughout the month of October and concluded on Diwali day, not only celebrated the festival of lights but also marked the 70th anniversary of the brand which is deeply rooted in the community.
The carnival was designed to go beyond driving sales; its main goal was to foster deeper emotional connections with customers by creating a festive, family-friendly shopping experience. Devika Kapoor, Partner at Kashi Jewellers, explained, “The idea was to offer something different and special to our customers, to pamper them and make them feel privileged.” This vision came to life with a carnival-themed transformation of the showroom, which featured food stalls, an Instagram themed selfie corner and a lucky draw booth. For every Rs 25,000 spent on jewellery, customers received a mega coupon with several exciting benefits, ensuring that every purchase was rewarded in some way.
The lucky draw was the highlight of the event. Each coupon had four parts, one of which gave customers a chance to win daily prizes, with three winners drawn every evening. The second part entered customers into a bumper prize draw, offering 10 grand prizes, including a Baleno car, motorcycles, refrigerators, microwaves, and washing machines. “It was heartwarming to see the excitement as each day brought new winners,” said Kapoor, adding that American soft-serve ice cream, popcorn and colourful balloons contributed to the carnival atmosphere.
The response to the carnival was overwhelming, with more than 5,000 lucky draw coupons distributed throughout the month. The grand lucky draw ceremony, held on November 11, marked the culmination of the event. Over 200 lucky draw participants attended in person, while the ceremony was also streamed live on Kashi Jewellers’ social media channels, allowing a broader audience to join in the excitement.
The success of the carnival is evident from the highly positive feedback received from customers, said Kapoor. “Many attendees were pleasantly surprised by the festive, family-oriented experience. One customer remarked that it is the first time she had experienced such a celebration at a jewellery store,” Kapoor stated. Beyond providing a joyful shopping environment, the carnival also contributed to a significant increase in sales across all categories, from gold and diamond jewellery to silver and platinum. Kapoor noted, “We saw phenomenal growth in sales, especially in diamonds, which showed a significant uptick compared to last year’s Diwali.”
The Kashi Jewellers Diwali Carnival was not just a promotional event, but a way for the brand to give back to its community. Rather than focusing solely on transactions, the carnival aimed to create an atmosphere where customers felt truly celebrated. Kapoor remarked, “The feeling of being connected with our customers, sharing in their joy during Diwali, was incredibly rewarding. It wasn’t just about selling jewellery; it was about a community celebration.”
