Tamil Nadu — Jos Alukkas, a prominent name in the South Indian jewellery industry, has introduced Mehfil, a new sub-brand that celebrates the grandeur of Mughal-inspired jewellery. The launch event in Chennai featured actress Anarkali Marikar unveiling Mehfil’s exquisite pieces, which are elegantly designed for the discerning tastes of the upcoming wedding season. The event was attended by Jos Alukkas’ managing directors, Varghese Alukka, Paul J Alukka, and John Alukka.
“Mehfil jewellery is crafted by expert designers and skilled craftsmen, celebrating the rich tapestry of diverse cultures,” stated Chairman Jos Alukka. “In addition to weddings, the sub-brand offers exquisite jewellery perfect for various special occasions.”
Mehfil draws inspiration from the magnificent jewellery designs of the Mughal period, renowned for their craftsmanship and use of precious gemstones such as diamonds, emeralds, rubies, kundan, polki, and jade. Mughal jewellery is distinguished by its meticulous stonework and intricate enamelling techniques, blending Indian jewellery art with Middle Eastern charm. Jos Alukkas has infused this rich legacy with a contemporary flair to captivate modern tastes.
The Mehfil collection showcases Jos Alukkas’ dedication to timeless craftsmanship and innovation, offering pieces that balance tradition with modernity. Featured stones in Mehfil include Monalisa, moissanite, onyx, rice pearl, and Russian emerald, each meticulously crafted to highlight their natural beauty.
