The event showcased jewellery as cultural artistry through music, dance and tradition, with luminaries like Aruna Sairam and Anita Ratnam gracing the occasion
Chennai: South Indian art and heritage took centre stage at the Marvellous Margazhi event, where music, dance, and tradition seamlessly blended with stunning jewellery. The evening, graced by cultural luminaries like Aruna Sairam and Anita Ratnam, celebrated jewellery as a profound form of artistic expression. GRT Jewellers, the proud sponsor, elevated this gathering with its meticulously crafted collections, positioning the brand as a true patron of the region’s rich cultural legacy.
Hosted at the Radisson Blu Hotel and Suites GRT Chennai, the second edition of this prestigious gathering became a vibrant platform celebrating South India’s artistic excellence. The evening transcended a typical corporate showcase, emerging as a sophisticated confluence of art, tradition, and contemporary elegance. A distinctive ramp walk featured an illustrious ensemble of classical dancers, vocalists, and cultural luminaries, each elegantly adorned in GRT Jewellers’ meticulously crafted collections. The presentation was further enhanced by exquisite sarees from Snehalayaa, creating a narrative that resonated deeply with the spirit of Margazhi—a sacred month synonymous with artistic devotion and cultural expression.
Distinguished artists offered profound insights into their experience with the jewellery. Renowned classical dancer and choreographer Anita Ratnam lauded GRT Jewellers’ designs, highlighting their timeless quality and potential to become cherished heirlooms for future generations.
The event boasted an impressive roster of cultural luminaries. Violin maestro Ganesh Rajagopalan, Padma Vibhushan awardee Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam, celebrated Bharatanatyam dancer Radhe Jaggi, and Carnatic vocalist Sandeep Narayan were among those who expressed genuine appreciation for the jewellery, emphasising how the pieces made them feel uniquely valued.
A crowning moment was the presence of Carnatic music legend Aruna Sairam, a Padma Shri recipient and long-standing GRT Jewellers patron. Adorned in an extraordinary diamond necklace, she eloquently articulated the profound interconnectedness of artistic expressions. Sairam passionately described how music, jewellery, ornaments, sarees, drama, and dance are intrinsically linked—each art form enhancing and enriching the others.
Other notable personalities such as the CEO of GRT Hotels and Resorts, along with emerging talents like Carnatic singer Rahul Vellal also graced the event.
Through this sponsorship, GRT Jewellers transcended traditional marketing, positioning its collections as more than mere accessories. The brand emerged as a true patron of South Indian cultural heritage, celebrating jewellery as an integral expression of artistic identity.
