DC Jewellers honours cleaners for keeping the city spick and span through ‘Indore ke Gehne’ event

Indore has been named the cleanest city of India for seven consecutive years in a row. The event, conducted in association with MY FM, saw the participation of more than 250 cleaners from the city

Indore: DC Jewellers recently organized a special event titled ‘Indore ke Gehne’ to honour the city’s cleaners for their significant contribution towards making Indore the cleanest city of India for seven consecutive years in a row. The event was conducted in association with MY FM and saw the participation of more than 250 cleaners from the city. The jeweller not only recognized the hard work of these individuals but also celebrated their essential role in the city’s maintenance.

Fifty cleaners, who had demonstrated exceptional dedication and efforts in keeping Indore clean, were awarded recognition badges and gift vouchers worth Rs 1,500 each. The event was named ‘Indore ke Gehne’, highlighting the invaluable contributions of these unsung heroes, who often go unnoticed despite their vital role. A party followed the event, allowing the attendees to come together and share moments of camaraderie and fun.

Commenting on the significance of the event,Vikas Kataria, Director of DC Jewellers, said, “We wanted to recognize the people who contributed the most to Indore’s success as the ‘Cleanest City of India’. These cleaners have played a pivotal role in this achievement, and we felt it was important to honour them for their hard work and dedication. Their efforts are the foundation of this success, and it is time they were given the recognition they truly deserve.”

Mohit Soni, Business Head of DC Jewellers, highlighted the initiative, saying, “This event was about showing our appreciation for the people who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to keep our city clean. By organizing this event, we wanted to bring the community together and celebrate these individuals who don’t often get the recognition they deserve. We hope this sets an example for others to appreciate and value the hard work of such essential workers.”

The event was attended by prominent figures from the city, including Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav and Nagarnikam Commissioner Shivam Verma. Both officials recognized the importance of celebrating the city’s cleaners. The Mayor acknowledged that the initiative resonated deeply with the residents of Indore, as the cleaners played an integral role in the city’s achievement. The event would leave a lasting impact on the community, he said, praising acknowledgement of the cleaners’ contributions.

“This campaign helped us build trust and demonstrate our commitment to the community,” Kataria remarked, adding that the event was well-received for its positive social impact. Alongside the awards, various activities fostered community spirit, including music and local food. MY FM’s participation enhanced the festive atmosphere, making the event more engaging and memorable for everyone involved.

The upcoming new store in Indore will be DC Jewellers’ first outside of Ratlam, where the brand was founded in 1920, and runs its flagship store. The brand continues to uphold the legacy of its founder Dhulchand Ji Kataria, and the new store will endeavour to bring his values of transparency and high quality closer to Indore’s jewellery lovers.
