The brand looks to balance Premiumness and affordibility, pricing the collection between Rs. 30,000 to 30,00,000
Mumbai: C. Krishniah Chetty has launched a limited-edition jewellery collection, ‘1922 THE RETURN OF PHARAOH,’ to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb. This collection draws inspiration from designs created in 1922 for British residents in Bangalore and features Egyptian-themed obelisk pendants, cuff links, brooches, and more.
The collection pays homage to Tutankhamun, the last heir of an ancient Egyptian dynasty. Each piece recreates ancient Egyptian motifs, including hieroglyphs, the Eye of Horus, the Egyptian lotus, the crook, scarab beetles, the ankh, and the Falcon. These symbols reflect aspects of ancient Egyptian culture and symbolism.
Hieroglyphs and the Eye of Horus are incorporated into the jewellery to offer protection and insight, while the Egyptian lotus signifies rebirth and purity. The scarab beetle, associated with transformation and protection, and the ankh, symbolizing the key to life, are prominent features. The collection also includes pieces inspired by the sun god Re and the Falcon.
The ‘1922 THE RETURN OF PHARAOH’ collection includes a range of items, from head ornaments to waist belts, designed to embody the grandeur and elegance of ancient Egypt. The collection captures a vast audience in terms of the pricing as it starts from Rs.30,000 and goes all the way up to Rs.30,00,000
Dr. C. Vinod Hayagriv, Director & Managing Director of C. Krishniah Chetty Group of Jewellers, noted, “The ‘1922 THE RETURN OF PHARAOH’ collection continues our historical legacy from 1922. We have reimagined the designs originally inspired by Tutankhamun’s treasures, bringing them to life with contemporary significance through gold, gemstones, and vibrant color
