BlueStone launches 18kt gold collection ‘Plique-à-jour’ inspired by the Wings of Paradise
Crafted in 18kt gold and adorned with translucent enamel, the vibrant colours and soft silhouettes of these pieces resonate with the freedom and energy of the season
Mumbai: BlueStone, a digital-first omnichannel jewellery brand in India, launched their collection titled ‘Plique-à-jour’, inspired by the Wings of Paradise. Crafted in 18kt gold and adorned with translucent enamel, each piece in this collection captures nature’s poetry in its most refined form.n
The vibrant colours and soft silhouettes of these pieces resonate with the freedom and energy of the season, adding a touch of effortless elegance to your spring wardrobe. Developed in the Byzantine Empire in the 6th Century AD, this technique uses vitreous enamel to create jewellery reminiscent of stained-glass windows, capturing the era’s intricate artistry and vibrant colours in delicate gold frameworks.
Commenting on the launch, Vipin Sharma, Chief Merchandising Officer, BlueStone, said, “The term “Plique-à-jour” is derived from French, and translates to “letting in daylight,” encapsulating the essence of this technique. Our skilled craftsmen place the translucent enamel on a metal frame by hand, which allows light to pass through it and create patterns that dance and shimmer with every movement. These pieces embody a unique blend of artistry and allure, promising elegance that will turn heads.”
