AstaGuru jewellery auction to begin on May 20
The jewellery segment ranges from intricate traditional Indian masterpieces to Art Deco period jewellery featuring high-grade diamonds, Basra pearls, Colombian and Zambian emeralds, Burmese rubies, and many more gemstones.

CHENNAI: Seven rows of Zambian emerald beads with a rare Colombian emerald cameo depicting a finely handcrafted portrait of a European lady set in a white gold frame with diamonds (Rs 27 lakh to Rs 35 lakh). Just one of the pieces of jewellery on auction by AstaGuru this May.
Over the years, India has witnessed a growing demand for heirloom jewellery and fine silver auctions. Similarly, there is a growing demand for vintage and limited-edition watches in the Indian market as collectors look to own pieces that are icons of watchmaking and design. Keeping this in mind, auction house AstaGuru has curated a collection that appeals to these demands and offers top-quality pieces in each category.
The annual Heirloom Jewellery, Silver & Timepieces online auction which will be held on May 20 and 21 features a broad selection of 120 lots, including some of the finest heirloom and vintage jewellery, and silver that celebrate rich craftsmanship and design traditions from Europe and the Indian sub-continent.
The jewellery segment ranges from intricate traditional Indian masterpieces to Art Deco period jewellery featuring high-grade diamonds, Basra pearls, Colombian and Zambian emeralds, Burmese rubies, and many more gemstones.
Leading the jewellery segment and commanding the highest price in the auction is the Two Row Basra Necklace, circa 1940, estimated at Rs 1.25 – 1.5 crore. This necklace comprises 107 finely matched and graduated Basra pearls, each interspaced with seed pearls, secured with a white gold clasp set with round cut diamonds.
The auction also presents several signed pieces by Piaget, Tiffany & Co., Collingwood Jewellers Ltd. London, and Indian jewellery houses such as Gazdar Jewellers, Narotamdas Bhau, and Manilal Chimanlal & Co. Bombay.
In addition, the auction will offer horological masterpieces from world-renowned manufactures such as Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Hublot, Piaget, Panerai, Rolex, Ulysse Nardin, Breguet, Frank Muller, Roger Dubuis and many more.
