Arundhati Jewellers gives back to the community by hosting mega blood donation camp across all its stores

The drive was held simultaneously across all nine branches of the brand in Odisha, with the goal of encouraging local residents to contribute to a life-saving cause, give back to society and support those in need
Bhubaneswar: Arundhati Jewellers recently organized its annual mega blood donation camp, with the goal of encouraging local residents to contribute to a life-saving cause, give back to society and support those in need. The camp was held across all nine branches of Arundhati Jewellers in Odisha, drawing a large number of donors. Besides employees of Arundhati Jewellers, customers and community members were also invited to participate in the drive, which proved to be a resounding success, with over 1,000 units of blood being collected in just one day.
Rajindra Mattoo, CEO of Arundhati Jewellers, spoke about the company’s commitment to social responsibility, saying, “This initiative aligns with our vision to give back to society. We have always aimed to connect with our community not only through business but by contributing to causes that matter. Giving back is not just a one-time affair for us, it’s part of our long-term approach.”
Mattoo attributed the event’s success to the overwhelming support of both employees and external donors. “We reached out to our customers, employees and the wider community through social media, TV commercials and ads. The response exceeded our expectations. The turnout was fantastic, and we were able to collect the target of 1,000 units of blood,” Mattoo shared.
Despite having more than 2,000 registrations, the final number of donors was slightly lower due to the limited time available at the blood banks, which had to close by afternoon, Mattoo said. Some potential donors were unable to donate within the time constraints, but Mattoo mentioned that future events would be scheduled more conveniently to avoid such issues. “Next time, we’ll consider having the event over the weekend to ensure that even more people can participate,” he said.
Community engagement events like this help the brand build a lasting connection with people, beyond just selling products. “We aim to build long-term relationships with our customers. Events like these help us connect with the community in a deeper way. We want our customers to see us as a brand that is always there for them in times of need,”Mattoo stated.
Notably, Achyutananda Meher, Director, Arundhati Jewellers is an ardent advocate of voluntary blood donation, and has been collaborating with the State Government and Red Cross over the years to organize blood donation camps, with February 25 demarcated as Blood Donation Day. These camps help collect blood for government blood banks across district headquarters in Odisha.
Associating business with charitable projects requires tenacity and commitment, and Arundhati Jewellers has been banking on the good intent of customers and the community to go beyond transactions and make the drive a success.
With nine stores spread across Odisha, Arundhati Jewellers operates in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Puri, Berhampur, Rourkela, Sambalpur, Balangir, Bargarh and Bhawanipatna. Founded in 2000 by Brahmananda Meher, the brand began with just five employees and a 200-square-foot space. Since then, the company has grown significantly, now employing 1,200 people and serving customers across the region.
