N Gopaldas Jewellers hold singing and quiz contests to keep followers excited

It is good to sing away the blues and N Gopaldas Jewellers created a fun-filled programme named ‘Diamond Singer’ to help its followers use music to survive the pandemic. This was a week-long contest held on Instagram in May.
According to its rules, participants had to first register themselves through a WhatsApp number shared in the Instagram post about the contest. After registering, they had to share a 1.5-2 minute singing video of their own via to that WhatsApp number by 29 May. Participants were given the options of either recording the video of the performance with or without backing tracks including karaoke. One could also sing devotional songs in the contest.

Chaitali Shah, Director, N Gopaldas Jewellers, said, “There was no restriction on the age group of the participants for the contest. It was held in our three branches- 2 in Trichy and 1 in Chennai. Overall, we received 60-70 participations from all the age groups.”
Apart from the winner, special prizes were also given to child participants for their performances.

The brand had also held a quiz contest which had topics from entertainment, logos and current affairs. For this too, contestants had to first register through a WhatsApp number. During the contest, 15 questions were posted on the WhatsApp group for the contest where over a 100 people took part. Those who gave maximum correct answers in the shortest time won.
