The Minister’s interaction with diamond merchants centred around fostering an environment of collaboration and the industry’s growth trajectory
The Bharat Diamond Bourse recently welcomed Mansukh Laxmanbhai Mandaviya, Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare and Chemical & Fertilizers, Government of India, to its precincts in Mumbai.
The Indian diamond industry, represented by Anoop Mehta, President of the Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB), along with Vipul Shah, Chairman of the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council(GJEPC), Mehul Shah, Vice President of BDB, Kirit Bhansali, Vice-Chairman of GJEPC, welcomed the Minister, in the presence of more than 200 members of the trade.
The Minister interacted with diamond merchants, engaging in meaningful discussions about the industry and India’s growth trajectory. Emphasizing the relentless efforts of the Central Government during the COVID-19 pandemic, he highlighted how India stood as a global beacon of hope by providing medicines and vaccines to nations worldwide. The Minister expressed his firm belief in the concept of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’, promoting the idea of a global family united in the face of adversity.
Mandaviya passionately shared the visionary approach of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in elevating India to the forefront of the world stage. He commended the Government’s steadfast commitment to progress, emphasizing its tireless pursuit of excellence and inclusive development.
The BDB president presented the formal welcome address while the vote of thanks was proposed by Mehul Shah of BDB. Shah thanked the Minister for taking the time to visit the Bharat Diamond Bourse, saying that his presence alone served as a powerful morale booster for the entire industry.
The Minister’s visit further solidified relations between the Indian diamond Industry and the Government, fostering an environment of collaboration and mutual growth.
