Handle a difficult customer
Testing Patience : Abhay Agarwal

Abhay Agarwal, Owner, Kanhaiyalal Sarraf Jewellers, Varanasi
Two years ago a family of seven members came to the shop. It was around 11 am and we had just opened the shop. The family came to buy gold jewellery for a function at their house. The sales staff showed them numerous jewellery items but they were not finalising anything. They just kept on asking the staff to show them more items. As the staffs were busy attending them, they could not have their lunch properly. In between, lots of other relatives from their side joined them and took part in the jewellery selection. The staff was getting restless as everyone was making their own choices. However, they kept their cool and did their job professionally. After much deliberation, they finally selected some jewellery items worth Rs 7-8 lakhs. It was a huge sigh of relief for me and my staff. So, by the time they left the shop, it was almost 8 pm in the evening.
