Shyam Sundar Co Jewellers offers sponsorship to prepare participants for National Yoga Championship
With the objective of preparing the state team for the national championship, the brand presented a sponsorship of Rs 1,00,000 to the team, which also covered the expense of a 7-day training camp
Durgapur: Shyam Sundar Co Jewellers recently sponsored a training camp for the Tripura Yoga Team, which will be participating at the National Yoga Championship at Durgapur, West Bengal, between December 27 to 29, 2023.
With the objective of preparing the state team for the national championship, the brand presented a sponsorship of Rs 1,00,000 which covered related expenses including jerseys, travel, incidentals, and the training camp between December 15 to 21, 2023.
The jeweller also organised a special press preview for the 47-member team of yoga participants and coaches to wish them well for the National Championship in Durgapur. On this fitting occasion, six newly appointed national judges – namely, Amal Bhattacharya, Satya Ghosh, Joydeb Majumder, Chandana Deb, Mitali Bhowmik and Nandita Banik – were felicitated for their achievements.
Presiding at the special preview were Tinku Roy, Sports Minister, Government of Tripura; Rupak Saha, Director, Shyam Sundar Co Jewellers & President, Tripura Yoga Association, and Dibyendu Dutta, Secretary, Tripura Yoga Association.
“We have always extended the pursuit of excellence beyond the four walls of the jewellery showrooms and celebrated all that is really gold. This sponsorship of Tripura Yoga Team is yet another move in that direction,” said Rupak Saha.
Brand organises excursion for school kids to support social causes
The jewellery brand also presented a ‘Season’s Special Educational Outing For ‘Swarnagram Shikshalaya’ School Children’ from ‘Swarnagram’ Warengbari. The excursion was organised for 119 students of ‘Swarnagram Shikshalaya’ who were accompanied by their teachers and taken around places of special interest in and around Agartala.
“Swarnagram is an initiative that is very close to our heart and the objective of this educational outing – and many other excursions in the future – is to take these ‘Swarnagram Shikshalaya’ boys and girls, who we have seen growing up, out of their village and expose them to different environments – for them to experience the change of scene and gain from all the learning there,” said Rupak Saha, Director, Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers.
The outing started with a sight-seeing tour at the Ujjayanta Palace, going on to Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers store. After that, the excursion progressed to Heritage Park and concluded with a study tour of Science City and all that it housed.
Dipak Majumdar, Mayor, Agartala Municipal Corporation, graced the occasion as Chief Guest to encourage the ‘Swarnagram Shikshalaya’ students to keep learning from life. The brand also hosted a get-together at its showroom to commemorate the spirit of the season and were entertained by the performances of the students.
