Kalyan Jewellers launches new subsidiary named ‘Kalyan Gold and Diamond Jewellery Ltd’ in the United Kingdom

In an exchange filing, the company stated that the aim of setting up the new unit is to expand its jewellery business in the UK
Thrissur: Leading jewellery retailer Kalyan Jewellers has established a new subsidiary named ‘Kalyan Gold and Diamond Jewellery Ltd’ in the United Kingdom, according to an exchange filing on January 24, 2025. The company stated that the aim of setting up the subsidiary is to expand its jewellery business in the UK.
Earlier this month, the company’s management had discussed plans for international expansion in an interaction with the media.The business of the subsidiary is in line with the business of the company, said Kalyan Jewellers. Kalyan Gold & Diamond Jewellery Limited has a subscribed capital of GBP 1000. Kalyan Jewellers has 100% stake in its newly formed subsidiary, according to the exchange filing.
Despite this move, over the course of the week, Kalyan Jewellers’ stock dropped by 8%, following a 20% decline in the previous two weeks. With the current decline, Kalyan Jewellers’ stock has fallen by about 43% from its recent peak of Rs 795.
Meanwhile, Kalyan Jewellers has emerged as a leading television advertiser in the jewellery sector, according to data released by TAM Media Research. As the top television advertiser, Kalyan Jewellers commanded a significant 23% share of the total ad spends by jewellery brands in television. The company’s visually stunning commercials, often featuring popular celebrities who are its brand ambassadors, resonated with viewers and effectively showcased their exquisite jewellery collections.
Headquartered in Thrissur, Kerala, Kalyan Jewellers is one of India’s largest jewellery retailers, with a significant presence in the Middle East, including the UAE, Qatar, Oman, and Kuwait. The company continues to expand its footprint both in metropolitan cities and smaller towns across India. As of December 31, 2024, Kalyan Jewellers had 349 showrooms in total, including 253 in India, 36 in the Middle East, one in the USA, and 59 under the Candere sub-brand. During Q3FY25, the company added 46 new showrooms across its Kalyan and Candere brands.
