Jewellery for every day, fast and easy to wear with simple and geometric shapes, reversible and modular, in soft and matching colours. These are the jewellery “must-haves” for the coming season that has surfaced at OROAREZZO 2019, the Show – organized by Italian Exhibition Group (IEG) – that promotes the very best of Made in Italy on an international scale and which comes to a close tomorrow at Arezzo Fiere e Congressi.
The over 500 exhibiting brands have thus outlined the character of this summer’s jewellery fashion amid new ideas and flashbacks to the past.
Jewellery for summer 2019 will be “prêt-à-porter”, easy to wear with simple and geometric shapes, ‘80s inspired: round, square, rectangular and triangular, small for every-day wear and showy and conspicuous for the woman who wants to get herself noticed at special occasions.
An ‘essential chic’ accessory, reversible and modular, with long necklaces coming back into fashion, drop earrings and matching necklaces and bracelets.
The “combination” trend will dominate both in terms of colour and material: from two- and three-coloured solutions mainly in soft colours, such as yellow, white and pink, to matching materials, from gold to silver, from precious and semi-precious stones to costume jewellery in brass and polished, enamel-effect surfaces.
And while last year saw the exploit of silver, 2019 summer’s real must-have will be the gold, which returns to play a leading role for both refined and simple creations.
And the new collections have also extended their themes. Suggestions and inspirations come from the sea world with natural and mythological marine creatures: abstract and sinuous shapes that recall the movement of the waves, shells, starfish, mermaids, combinations with coral and colours in shades of light and dark blue.
As every year, the Arezzo event proves itself to be the sector’s most perceptive observatory for ready-to-wear trends, naming the style standards for the coming season.
