Mumbai: Apex industry body All India Gem and Jewellery Domestic Council (GJC) is all set to host the 7th edition of its flagship event, the India Gem and Jewellery Show (GJS) – also known as #HamaraApnaShow – from April 4 to 7, 2025, at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai.

Timed to support the growth in jewellery demand before Akshay Tritiya and after Gudi Padwa, and corresponding with the wedding season, the show will cater to 400+ exhibitors across 700+ booths, and expects around 10,000 visitors. A key highlight of GJS April 2025 will be the introduction of a dedicated silver pavilion, offering an extensive collection of silver ornaments and artefacts. It will allow attendees to connect with top suppliers and stock up silver for the upcoming season, alongside gold and diamond collections.

Commenting on the new silver pavilion, Rajesh Rokde, Chairman of GJC, said, “The silver market is going to boom big time, because the youth are becoming consumers. Besides being pocket-friendly, silver has given 35% returns in the last year, so there is investment potential too. Looking at the demand and increase in silver manufacturing, GJS has introduced the silver pavilion at GJS April 2025. About Rs 1000-2000 crore of silver business is expected from the show.”

Talking of the market for gold, Rokde said, “The investment opportunity in gold is the greatest today, so people’s trust in gold has increased. Therefore, some people are even buying heavier gold sets than usual. The market will always be profitable for gold. Having 18k, 14k and 9k gold options will help manufacturers and retailers. Currently, consumers don’t just buy gold, they want to buy designs. So having great designs can be a brand’s USP and will help in sales.”

According to Rokde, the show promises to be a premier platform for sourcing new designs and trends, catering to jewellers of all sizes. “As an apex body, GJC firmly believes in its three ethos – Protecting, Promoting and Progressing – and through GJS, we are striving to achieve all these on one platform. We are honoured to celebrate 25 years of hallmarking of gold in India in the presence of Minister for Consumer Affairs, Pralhad Joshi. This will also give us an opportunity to interact with the Ministry and plan the roadmap ahead for the most effective and efficient hallmarking regime,” he added.

Avinash Gupta, Vice Chairman of GJC, added,“The GJS April 2025 show offers an excellent platform for jewellery manufacturers, traders, wholesalers, retailers, artisans, and others in the value chain to connect with emerging talents and creative minds. Our focus should be on sustainability and how the gems and jewellery industry can play a larger role in this. We have scheduled interesting seminars throughout the show, with topics to cover all aspects of the business.”

Saiyam Mehra, Immediate Past Chairman of GJC & Convenor of GJS and GJC Next Gen, said,”GJS is opening its doors to visitors aged 16 and above, encouraging young minds to delve into the fascinating world of the gems and jewellery Industry. This year, we have introduced the Silver Pavilion as one of the key attractions in the show. Even with rising prices of gold, demand is very positive, and we are confident that GJS will turn out to be the best show of 2025.”

Pankaj Bhoyar, Minister of State for Home (Rural), Housing, School Education, Cooperation and Mining, Government of Maharashtra will inaugurate GJS 2025 on April 4, 2025, along with Guests of Honour Paul J.
