GIA India’s course on jewellery merchandising for retailers set to transform industry dynamics

Mumbai: GIA India has unveiled its latest offering: the “Jewellery Merchandising for Retailers” course. This innovative programme promises to equip participants with invaluable insights into the intricate art and science of effective jewellery merchandising strategies.
Tailored to meet the evolving needs of the industry, the course is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of essential merchandising concepts, empowering jewellers to devise strategies aligned with their business objectives and geared towards driving sales success. Targeting a wide spectrum of industry professionals, including jewellery business owners, merchandisers, retail sales staff, category managers, section managers, floor managers, and store managers, the course offers a holistic approach to mastering the nuances of jewellery retail.
The curriculum, delivered through a blend of remote learning and hands-on practical sessions, spans four days a week, with an additional full-day practical session scheduled at GIA India’s Mumbai campus. Commencing on June 10, 2024, the inaugural batch promises to immerse participants in an enriching learning experience, facilitated by industry experts and thought leaders.
One of the course’s key highlights is its focus on understanding Indian jewellery target audiences, enabling participants to discern and evaluate consumer trends, preferences, and purchasing habits. With a strong emphasis on overall learning experience, students will continue to engage in case-studies and group discussions even after course completion.
Apoorva Deshingkar, Senior Director of Education and Market Development at GIA India, emphasized the course’s relevance in today’s fiercely competitive market. “For jewellery retailers to thrive in this landscape, mastering the art of merchandising is imperative. Our blended learning approach allows participants to seamlessly integrate their professional commitments with their pursuit of knowledge,” Deshingkar remarked.
