By eliminating traditional metal settings, this technology offers unparalleled brilliance and durability, ensuring a vivid display of diamonds. With high expectations and strategic plans, Diamond Dreams is ready to capture the Indian market, starting with the grand opening of their new factory in Coimbatore.

Mumbai: At the forefront of innovation in the jewellery industry, Diamond Dreams is making waves at this year’s IIJS Premiere with the introduction of their pioneering Floating Diamond technology, a first in India. Pearl Chandrawansa, Managing Director of Diamond Dreams, brings this Sri Lankan innovation to the Indian market, marking a significant milestone for the company.

The Floating Diamond technology is a revolutionary approach to diamond setting. Traditional jewellery settings involve metal prongs or bezels to secure diamonds, often obscuring parts of the gemstone. In contrast, Diamond Dreams’ technology uses a clear carbon compound that holds the diamond without any metal, allowing the entire diamond to be visible from all angles. Chandrawansa explains, “The whole magic of this process is to take small diamonds and set them like a sheet of diamonds or a cluster. This carbon fibre takes light like the diamond, and because it is transparent, it picks up any background colour, making it a versatile fashion statement.”

This innovative technology not only enhances the brilliance of diamonds but also offers durability and longevity. Chandrawansa proudly mentions that a ring made with this technology has remained intact and radiant for 35 years.

As Diamond Dreams steps into the Indian market, their expectations from IIJS Premiere are high. They are set to open a new factory in Coimbatore next month, aiming to cater to the Indian market with their exclusive designs. Chandrawansa is keen on establishing strong partnerships with wholesalers and retailers across the country. “I aim to engage in serious discussions with major retail chains like Tanishq, GRT, and Malabar, and establish strong partnerships with reputable wholesalers in India before the opening of our Coimbatore factory. With the right collaborations, I anticipate generating millions of dollars in business through our new technology,” she shares confidently.

The Coimbatore factory, solely dedicated to the Indian market, will play a crucial role in meeting the demand for Floating Diamonds. While Diamond Dreams has received overwhelming interest from retailers across India, their focus remains on strategic partnerships that can effectively distribute and promote this unique product.

With a history of success in markets like the Middle East and the US, Diamond Dreams is poised to make a significant impact in India. Compared to last year’s IIJS Diamond Dreams is getting a huge number of footfalls at the second day of IIJS itself.
