In a bid to showcase our rich heritage to the next generations, Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalay (CSMVS) opened Money & Traditional Jewellery sections which were inaugurated recently.  Ajit Gadgil, Chairman-Director P. N. Gadgil & Sons Ltd., Dr. Renu Gadgil, Director P. N. Gadgil & Sons Ltd., Sabyasachi Mukherjee, CSMVS Director-General,  Shrikant Kuber were present. CSMVS has partnered with PNG Sons for Maharashtrian jewellery.

CSMVS is leading museum of India; to craft an authentic Maharashtrian Jewellery it has partnered PNG Sons as they are known for expertise, excellent craftsmanship, research and PNG Sons also have old dyes as well as their knowledge on traditional jewellery is impeccable. PNG Sons have handcrafted 200 Traditional Maharashtrian Jewellery such as Tanmani, Vjarateek, Taldali Pot (All neckpieces) etc which is displayed in CSMVS Jewellery section.

Commenting on partnering with CSMVS Ajit Gadgil- Director Chairman said, “We are feeling proud as this is prestigious for us as CSMVS is India’s biggest museum. We have handcrafted all Mahrashtrian jewellery which is kept here and donated some of the jewellery. Apart from the jewellery business, we are committed for Art contribution and we are looking forward to work with CSMVS on new Art Initiative.”

CSMVS has a significant collection of jewellery, built over the years. It comprises of pieces from Harappan, Kausambi, gold and silver from early hoards, royal accoutrements and a vast range of traditional jewellery. This is the only jewellery in India and the first gallery dedicated to showcasing CSMVS jewellery collection.
