Mumbai: Vadodara-based high jewellery brand Narayan Jewellers took centre-stage at the grand finale of the Femina Miss India 2024 contest, held in Mumbai on October 16, as the official crown and jewels partner. Each intricately designed crown for the contest winner, Nikita Porwal, the first runner-up and the second runner-up reflected the rich cultural heritage of India, along with contemporary design elements.
The Managing Directors of Narayan Jewellers, Ketan Chokshi and Jatin Chokshi, had stage time with the winners at the highly coveted event, and thus gained immense visibility for the brand.
The crown for the winner of Femina Miss India World 2024 draws design inspiration from various regional art forms, including Bandhani of Gujarat, Kutchi embroidery of Rajasthan, Phulkari of Punjab and Dugdugi motifs from Assam. It is crafted in 18kt gold, along with a combination of natural white diamonds and yellow diamonds, accentuated with Mother of Pearls and hand-set stones.
The crown for the first runner-up brings together design elements from Odisha’s Patta Chitra paintings, Bidriware of Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu’s Kanchipuram sarees, and is also crafted in 18kt gold. It is embellished with white diamonds and Mozambique rubies.
For the second runner-up, Narayan Jewellers created a crown that reflects the intricate artistry of South and North India, drawing inspiration from Karnataka’s regal Mango Mala designs, Uttar Pradesh’s Kasumala, Kashmir’s Pashmina, and Bengal’s Kantha embroidery. It is embellished with white diamonds and Colombian and Zambian emeralds, set in 18kt gold.
On its Instagram page, Narayan Jewellers said, “It has been such an honor to design, create and unveil three new crowns for the prestigious Femina Miss India 2024 Pageant. It’s a dream many months in the making for all of us at Narayan Jewellers. For @missindiaorg’s 60th milestone year, our craftsmanship took center stage to felicitate the three reigning ladies with our crowns designed in true Narayan Jewellers artistry… with our near century-old legacy of heritage craftsmanship… The crowns, crafted under the visionary guidance of our Managing Directors, Dr. @ketan.chokshi & @jatin_chokshi , celebrate India’s rich artistry with exquisite diamonds, rare yellow diamonds, Mozambique rubies, Zambian emeralds set in 18kt gold.”
Notably, Narayan Jewellers is a name often mentioned on the international circuits such as New York Fashion Week, The Oscars or Sotheby’s. The brand, launched in 1940, retails both online and offline, and attempts to merge its rich heritage and tradition with post-modernist contemporary designs in luxury.
