‘IIJS Virtual will be a breather for the pent-up demand among customers’

What do you think will be the aftermath of the IIJS Virtual in the country?

I think it is a great platform. The idea of going virtual will overtake other exhibitions across the globe. It will help the exhibitors showcase maximum designs and retailers can easily look into them from the comfort of their homes or offices. There will be ample time to choose between designs, without the pressure of walking in the heat while physically going from one stall to another. So, I think the virtual show will be more productive.

What are you planning to showcase at the IIJS Virtual?

We are focusing more on small and medium jewellery such as cocktail rings, cocktail pendants, earrings and necklaces in pink gold and coloured stones. We have also come up with fusion jewellery where polki is amalgamated in traditional raw or uncut diamonds. So, the piece looks big in size but does not drill a hole in your pocket.

What are your expectations for the season till March 2021? Do you think we will achieve at least 70%-80% of the business as compared to last year?

We can easily achieve 70%-80% of the business, because I can sense pent-up demand among customers. They have kept quiet for six months.
