Jammu: Talla Jewellers, a prominent name in the Jammu & Kashmir jewellery market, recently organized a free medical check-up camp at the Ram Leela Club, Nai Basti, Jammu, in collaboration with the ‘Live For Others – Being Helpful Foundation’ (LFO-BHF) and hospital chain Ujala Cygnus. The camp benefited approximately 1,000 patients, offering them free consultations in Orthopaedics, General Medicine, Ophthalmology and Dentistry, with free medications distributed to those in need.

The camp received an overwhelming response, with many individuals benefiting from essential healthcare services they might otherwise have lacked access to. Kashish Gupta, CEO of Talla Jewellers, said, “We’ve observed a very positive response from people across different walks of life. Many individuals who typically wouldn’t make time to visit a doctor were able to take advantage of this opportunity. It’s a small effort on our part, but it can make a significant difference in someone’s life.”

Doctors at the camp provided eye check-ups, dental consultations, and general health screenings, including blood pressure and blood sugar tests. Patients requiring further medical attention were advised to visit clinics for more comprehensive care.

Gupta also commented on the long-term impact of such initiatives, stating, “It doesn’t directly impact footfalls at our stores, but when we share these initiatives on social media, customers often mention that they appreciate the work we’re doing. Even if they don’t see it online, word of mouth ensures people in the community are aware of our efforts. For instance, placards around the city promote awareness, and people notice the positive actions we’re taking. They recognize the good we do, which helps build a lasting reputation. While this may not lead to immediate sales, over time, people remember these efforts, and when they’re ready to make a purchase, they will turn to us.”

This collaboration is part of Talla Jewellers’ ongoing commitment to social responsibility. Despite being primarily a jewellery brand, the company remains dedicated to supporting local communities through healthcare initiatives like this one. Gupta added, “It’s not about branding or marketing for us; it’s about sharing smiles and helping those in need. We hope these initiatives bring relief and joy to the community.”

Talla Jewellers, founded in 1986 by Ajay Talla, has grown from humble beginnings to become a leading jewellery brand in Jammu & Kashmir. The company now operates four stores in Jammu and serves over 2,00,000 customers, maintaining a strong focus on craftsmanship and customer service.
