Swastik Jewellers and Rajguru Jewellers exhibit ranges in low grammage and laser soldering, attracting impressive inquiries
Swastik Jewellers – The New Age Mangalsutra (JIO-T 34p) brought out their mangalsutra collection ranging from below 3 grams to above 10 grams, while Rajguru Jewellers (JIO-U 38g) exhibited their jewellery in laser soldering technique
MUMBAI: The fifth day at Jio World Convention Centre saw impressive turnouts for IIJS Premiere 2024. Summing up a good 5-day run with retailers around the world thronging the stores for last-minute stock upgrades, The Retail Jeweller interacted with Swastik Jewellers – The New Age Mangalsutra (JIO-T 34p) and Rajguru Jewellers (JIO-U 38g).
Mitesh Jain, partner of Swastik Jewellers, said that the company has been exhibiting at IIJS Signature and Premiere for the past 5-7 years. According to him, the strategy to have two locations for IIJS Premiere 2024 has led to increase in the footfalls. “This year, the government has also supported with the duty correction. Since IIJS started first in Jio, many retailers did their bulk purchases from Jio and then went for the secondary lot of purchase at Nesco. This advantage is purely location-based,” said Jain.
The manufacturer has launched a mangalsutra below 3 grams, which retailers can sell below Rs 20,000, thus making it the highest selling collection this time. “We have also launched a pearl collection in mangalsutra, which ranges from 5 to 7 grams. We specialise in lightweight mangalsutras and are seeing demand increase for such items. Seven years before, we had started with displays of items of 5-10 grams only. This time, we got inquiries from retailers hailing from Hyderabad, Vijaywada, Pune and Pahelgaon in Maharashtra,” Mitesh Jain added.
Tarun Prakash Jain, director, Rajguru Jewellers, explained the company’s speciality in laser gold jewellery. The Mumbai-based brand had started before the pandemic. “We create lightweight gold jewellery using laser soldering only. We don’t use cadmium. In the market, laser soldering based jewellery is developing and we are one of the forefronts in that segment,” said Tarun Prakash Jain.
Tarun is satisfied with the inquiries from pan-India. Talking about his offerings, he said, “We have created two types of jewellery for IIJS. The first one is the laser gold jewellery named Daisy collection. The other one is a CNC based jewellery wherein we use vertical balls.” Since lightweight gold jewellery remains affordable, there is demand from all economic sections.
When asked about facilities available at IIJS Premiere, Mitesh Jain said that the ambience at Jio is better than Nesco, Goregaon. Retailers are also happy with the direct access to the halls here, he maintained. Other factors for increased turnout this time, according to Tarun, has been the duty reduction, which has increased demand for gold jewellery with retailers eyeing bulk buys to stay sorted for the upcoming wedding season.
