Studio Renn’s art-inspired jewellery showcase expands its consumer appeal in Chennai

Featuring pieces crafted in 18k gold with diamonds, emeralds, and rubies, the collection reflects indigenous art themes. With its experimental approach, Studio Renn continues to gain traction among Chennai’s buyers seeking individualistic and meaningful designs.
Mumbai: Jewellery brand Studio Renn presented its latest designs from the [Prime]al collection in a two-day showcase at Collage, Chennai, on 11th and 12th December 2024. This marked the brand’s fourth appearance in the city, where it displayed a series of innovative pieces created with a unique design approach.
Studio Renn co-founder Roshni Jhaveri shared that the development of the [Prime]al collection revolves around creating a distinctive design language. “Our design process is driven by creative expression. We focus on a subject, study it over several years, and then develop a collection based on that research,” said Jhaveri, who co-founded the brand with her husband, Rahul, nearly six years ago.
The [Prime]al collection, Studio Renn’s second, delves into indigenous art and abstraction, with pieces named “basket,” “weave,” and “vessel,” which reflect the process of creating art and objects. The collection features earrings, rings, bracelets, and necklaces crafted in 18k gold, adorned with diamonds, Zambian emeralds, and rubies.
Studio Renn is known for its unconventional jewellery, and its first collection, [An]otherness, explored the themes of atrophy and decay, winning the Innovation Award at the prestigious Couture Jewellery Show. The brand’s distinctive, creative pieces have resonated with discerning customers in Chennai, where Studio Renn has seen success despite the city’s traditionally conservative jewellery market. “Chennai’s buyers are forward-thinking and quality-conscious, which makes it an ideal market for our experimental work,” said Roshni Jhaveri.
As the year comes to a close, Roshni observes a shift in consumer preferences toward individualistic jewellery. “People are opting for pieces that resonate with their personal style, rather than following fleeting trends,” she noted.
The two-day showcase at Collage offered a chance for Chennai’s jewellery enthusiasts to explore Studio Renn’s art-inspired designs, further cementing the brand’s position as a leading name in contemporary fine jewellery.
