Mumbai: Mumbai-based Om Jewellers recently collaborated with designer label Gopi Vaid to jointly present new collections at the Bombay Times Fashion Week. Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty turned showstopper for the event.

Om Jewellers unveiled two new bridal collections at the event. The first, named ‘Jodha’, includes contemporary uncut diamond jewellery that the modern Indian bride can seamlessly adapt. ‘Yugani’, on the other hand, is an antique jewellery line which features several heritage pieces – intended for an audience that is attracted towards timeless sophistication. Gopi Vaid presented their winter festive collection, ‘Golconda Weaves,’ inspired by Nizami textiles and heritage.

Shetty was accessorized in a range of jadau jewellery pieces from both collections by Om Jewellers. Her Borla (a bell-shaped maang tika) was studded with pearl, kundan and meenakari work; and her fingers and wrists were adorned with a heavy, intricate filigree kada and rings. She also wore an enlarged, curling ornate nose ring, ringing in the fervour of the upcoming festive season. The unconventional absence of a statement necklace brought out the elegance of her minimalist look.

Shetty was dressed in a vibrant, fuschia pink and red ghaghra-choli, with intricately embroidered marodi work, gotta and a shimmer of sequins. The billowing skirt was embellished in classic chandbali motif, paired with a choli. The soft, organza dupatta with delicate motifs and borders accented her ensemble.
