The initiative drew participation from the brand’s staff, management, and even walk-in customers, creating a platform for contribution to social responsibility
Nagpur: Rokde Jewellers recently conducted a blood donation camp across its two flagship stores and corporate office in Nagpur, in collaboration with Jeevan Jyothi Blood Bank. The initiative drew participation from the brand’s management, staff and even walk-in customers, as the brand created a platform for contribution to social responsibility, in a bid to give back to the residents of Nagpur.
Paras Rokde, Director of Rokde Jewellers, shared that although the company is not mandated to undertake CSR initiatives as a non-listed entity, they have started contributing voluntarily. “We have started with steps we can easily manage, like blood donation camps and supporting NGOs,” he said.
The camp, held in-store and at the corporate office premises, was primarily aimed at employees. However, it also drew walk-in customers who noticed the set-up and chose to participate. “One positive thing we saw was the voluntary participation of customers once they saw the camp in progress,” Rokde added.
The collaboration with Jeevan Jyothi Blood Bank—Nagpur’s largest blood bank—helped ensure a smooth collection process. The camp resulted in the collection of 64 units of blood (approximately 22 litres). Around 63 staff members donated blood, and 80 to 85 employees were involved in organizing and facilitating the event.
Rokde explained the intent behind the initiative: “The only objective of hosting the camp at our retail store was to show customers that we also care for society. We are not just here for business; we are here to give back to the people of Nagpur.”
Such events, according to Rokde, offer more than just community service—they serve as an effective tool for brand engagement. “These events are by far the best for passive marketing. The perception and how the brand is viewed changes significantly. It becomes a successful BTL campaign.”
Looking ahead, the company is also planning a collaboration with Nagpur Municipal Corporation to install temporary shades at city traffic signals, especially during peak summer, to provide relief from heat exposure. While discussions are on, the brand remains committed to small but consistent community-focused efforts.
With a family legacy of over a century in business, Rokde Jewellers is one of the top jewellery retailers in Nagpur, with six stores in the city of Nagpur and one in Bhandara.
