PNG Jewellers celebrates success of this year’s Dajikaka Gadgil Karandak theatre festival
The brand’s Managing Director Saurabh Gadgil lauded the 2000+ participating artistes in a message posted on its Instagram page
Pune: After the vibrant conclusion of this year’s Dajikaka Gadgil Karandak – a festival of Marathi and Hindi theatre held in association with PNG Jewellers – the brand expressed pride and gratitude for the event’s success. It was the seventh edition of the Maharashtra State Level one act play competition, celebrated to commemorate the brand’s founder, Late Dajikaka Gadgil, who took great pride in promoting art and culture. The festival aims to provide talented writers, directors, actors and technicians a platform to enter into the professional circuit of pro theatre, films or television. It featured performances that resonated deeply with attendees and celebrated their cultural roots.
A video clip posted on the brand’s Instagram page shows PNG Jewellers Managing Director Saurabh Gadgil saying that more than 2,125 artistes participated in the event, which is a record. “We are honoured to have hosted an event that showcases the brilliance of our local artistes,” he says in the video. The brand looks to leverage its considerable social media presence to boost brand goodwill by way of this festival, which encourages artistes to experiment with their creativity.
Maharashtra has a strong legacy of theatre and drama and PNG Jewellers has been deeply involved in nurturing this culture, while providing theatre aspirants with a platform to showcase their talent. PNG Jewellers’ association with the Dajikaka Gadgil Karandak initiative lends it the wide global reach of the brand and also promotes quality in theatre, a concept that is synonymous with the brand’s core legacy.
Recently, the brand made headlines with its IPO, and its shares listing at a premium of nearly 74% above the issue price of Rs 480 on the Bombay Stock Exchange. The listing values the company at Rs 10,950.98 crore. The IPO, launched ahead of India’s festive and wedding season, has proven to be a strategic move, boosting the company’s market performance.
With such substantial investment pouring in, the brand has adopted an expansive retail strategy opening multiple stores across Maharashtra. Although the investment now enables a nationwide presence, the brand retains its core regional identity, facilitating programmes, events and initiatives for its long-term customers.
Growing from a single traditional store to a chain of outlets today, PNG Jewellers has a retail strength of 38+ stores across Maharashtra and Goa.
