Mia by Tanishq talks about its ‘Titanic’ workforce and endeavour to use only clean and green energy
Shared by Shyamala Ramanan of Mia by Tanishq on LinkedIn, the video talks about the various steps taken to use clean and green energy across product verticals of Titan
Mumbai: Tanishq has been synonymous with sustainable practices since long. One of the early adopters in the industry, the brand has been working to improve operational conditions of its artisans. Recently, Shyamala Ramanan, Business Head, Mia by Tanishq, shared a post on LinkedIn wherein the brand talks about its entire workforce becoming clean energy champs.
The video shared less than a week before, shows some of the key employees of the brand informing the audience about the efforts taken to make jewellery creation a harmonious process for the environment. “Our Hosur factory harvests enough water to harvest 72,000 10-minute showers,” says one.
Another Titan member talks about how 70% of the watches factory by Titan functions on wind energy. “That’s enough energy to power a single watch for 39 million years,” she explains. “We have planted enough trees to have an adult like me breathe pure air for 6 years,” states another employee. “We have harvested enough solar energy in our factories to light up 91 million LED bulbs,” said another employee.
In 2023, the brand released an ad film called Nature’s Finest, in which a lightweight jewellery range was presented as an offering close to nature. In that post, Ramanan mentioned that Mia uses recycled gold in Tanishq’s factory and has started the journey of recycling diamonds. These promotions align with the sensibilities of the eco-conscious customers of today. As the country steers towards sustainability, such activities lay the groundwork for organized jewellery retail to flourish unbothered in India.
