Mahabir Danwar Jewellers rekindles romance with grand finale of ‘Couple No. 1’ contest

After two successful seasons, this is the third edition of the contest, with 12 couples competing for the title over the last two months

Kolkata: The grand finale of Mahabir Danwar Jewellers’ (MDJ) ‘Couple No. 1’ contest was held in Kolkata recently. The event marked the conclusion of a two-month competition designed by the jeweller for married couples to showcase their love and commitment, based on the insight that weddings are eternally blissful, but it is important to keep the romance alive and celebrate one’s partner every day. This year’s contest, which began on September 6, 2024, was the third edition following the success of the first two seasons of Couple No. 1.

The finale featured the top 12 couples competing for the title, with a jury panel including actor and Mrs India Universe Richa Sharma, celebrity motivational speaker Naina More, fashion designer Jyotee Khaitan and jewellery designer Indu Soni. The event was attended by Vijay Soni, Arvind Soni, Sandeep Soni and Amit Soni, the directors of Mahabir Danwar Jewellers.

Speaking at the event, Arvind Soni and Sandeep Soni shared their excitement about the contest, saying, “Love is a beautiful journey that deserves to be celebrated at every step. With ‘Couple No. 1,’ we are proud to provide a platform for couples to strengthen their bonds and create lasting memories. Our goal is to rekindle the spirit of romance and remind everyone of the joy of companionship. This year, we are thrilled to reward the winning couple with a trip to Vietnam, a destination perfect for both love and adventure.”

The participants were dressed in outfits provided by official partners Aditya Jain (for men) and Simaaya (for women). The event was supported by Credo, directed by Miss Universe India 2010 Ushoshi Sen Gupta, and curated by San Entertainment.

Mahabir Danwar Jewellers, founded in 1970, is known for its handcrafted gold, diamond, Kundan and fusion jewellery. The company operates three showrooms in Kolkata and has recently expanded to Delhi with a new store. MDJ is recognized for its bridal jewellery collections, which combine traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design.
